Volkswagen up! Gets Five Doors

Volkswagen has confirmed that its new up! city car will be offered in the second half of this year, joining the three-door model which is available to order now and due to arrive in UK showrooms in March.

The amount of room for luggage (251 litres) and rear passengers is exactly the same, though obviously access will be easier for the latter. Pricing has not yet been announced, but a £500 premium over the three-door would be a reasonable guess. If that's correct, five-door up! prices would start at around £8495, but we'll let you know when VW comes up with a precise figure.
