2017 Audi Q5 UK launch details arrive

Audi has announced UK pricing and specifications for its new Q5 SUV, which is now available to order. Pricing starts at £37,170 and first deliveries will take place this April.

The new second-generation Q5 uses the same platform as Audi’s latest Q7 and A4 and shares many of its components with the A4 saloon, while the styling is brought very much in line with other recent SUVs like the Q7 and compact Q2.

From its initial launch, the new Q5 is available with two 2.0-litre engines. There’s a TDI diesel with 187bhp and a TFSI petrol unit with 248bhp. Regardless of engine or trim choice, all Q5 specs available from launch use Quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed S tronic automatic gearbox as standard. Audi says that the Q5 will add a 282bhp 3.0-litre TDI V6 diesel “at a later date”.

There are three trim levels to pick and they start with SE which carries the £37,170 price tag when using the 2.0-litre diesel engine. Pricing increases to £37,990 when opting for the petrol unit.

Standard equipment for the new Q5 includes heated front seats, Xenon headlights, a powered tailgate and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The mid-level Sport trim starts from £38,270 with the Q5’s diesel or from £39,090 with the petrol engine. This trim features a SD-card based MMI sat-nav as standard.

Top of the range is the S Line trim, priced from £40,220 with the diesel engine or from £41,040 with petrol power. This trim adds all-weather LED headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels.
