2017 Kia Stonic Crossover prices, specs and details revealed

The Korean manufacturer is looking to take a slice out of the lucrative crossover market with its Stonic

Kia has revealed that its Nissan Juke rivalling Stonic will cost from £16,295 - £2000 more than the market leader.

Three powertrains are available at launch, two petrol engines and one diesel. A 1.4-litre engine with 98bhp and a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces 118bhp make up the petrol outputs. There is also a 108bhp 1.6-litre CRDi turbodiesel available.

Initially just two trim levels will be offered, ‘2’ and ‘First Edition’, although the latter is not available with the 1.4-litre petrol engine. All models are strictly two-wheel drive, with Kia having no plans to offer a four-wheel drive version.

Standard equipment on the crossover includes 17-inch wheels, air-con, rear parking sensors, electric heated mirrors, a seven-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth with voice recognition and music streaming.

Prices start at £16,295 for the 1.4-litre petrol grade ‘2’ and rise to £20,495 for the range-topping ‘First Edition’ 1.6 CRDi diesel.

Order books are now open for the Stonic, with sales starting on October 23.
