2017 Renault Megane Sport Tourer pricing confirmed

Pricing and specification details can now be read for the new Renault Megane Sport Tourer which launches in the UK soon.

Pricing and specification details for the new Renault Megane Sport Tourer have been announced ahead of the family car’s UK launch in December.

The estate will start from £18,550, which makes the Renault a little more expensive than the rivalling Ford Focus estate but cheaper than the likes of the Volkswagen Golf estate and SEAT Leon ST.

From launch the new Megane Sport Tourer will be offered in six trim levels and with four engine options.

Engine line-up from launch

The launch engines include a 128bhp 1.2-litre petrol unit, linked to a manual gearbox as standard but available with a seven-speed EDC automatic ‘box for an extra £1,200. There’s also a 108bhp 1.5-litre diesel, a 128bhp 1.6-litre diesel and finally a 202bhp 1.6-litre petrol unit. The latter is only available for the range-topping model.

Most frugal of all in the Megane Sport Tourer’s engine line-up is the 108bhp diesel with the manual gearbox which officially records 76.4mpg combined and emits 96g/km in CO2.

Trims and equipment

Trim levels start with Expression+ and that’s followed by Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav, Signature Nav, GT Line Nav and finally GT Nav which uses the 202bhp engine.

Standard equipment with the entry-level Expression+ trim includes LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, a leather steering wheel and tinted windows.

The Dynamique Nav trim, which starts from £20,050, adds the likes of automatic wipers, automatic headlights, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, and the R-Link2 multimedia and sat-nav system with a seven-inch touchscreen.

Step up to Dynamique S, which starts from £21,050, and add-ons include an 8.7-inch portrait touchscreen, 17-inch alloys, front and rear parking sensors and a rear parking camera.

Signature Nav, priced from £22,550, features black leather upholstery, full LED headlights and 18-inch alloys. GT Line cars start from £21,550 and include sportier bodywork, a bespoke steering wheel and GT badging on the dashboard. The GT Nav, which only uses the 202bhp petrol engine, is priced at £27,450.

During 2017, the Megane Sport Tourer range will expand with the introduction of a diesel-electric hybrid and a 164bhp 1.6-litre twin-turbo diesel, with the latter coming for the GT Nav trim.
