2017 Suzuki Swift images leaked

Pictures of the 2017 Suzuki Swift supermini have been leaked online, showcasing a slightly revamped design that brings the small car more in-line with rivals including the Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa and DS 3.

The leaked images, which first appeared on worldcarfans.com, show both the standard Swift model and Sport model. The most eye-catching change to both models is the blacked-out C pillar, allowing for a floating roof design.

This particular design feature has grown extremely popular over the last few years with its competitor models like the Hyundai i20 and DS 3. The new Swift images also reveal a slightly reworked headlight and grille design, with large air intakes surrounding the fog lights, giving it a more aggressive look. The silhouette of the car remains largely unchanged however, with its stumpy rear-end and sloping roofline being its key design cues.

Interior wise, the layout of the cabin still seems very minimalistic, although the buttons and toggles have been tidied up a bit.

Engine details are still unknown, but we expect the standard model to get a small 1.0-litre or 1.2-litre petrol engine, possibly with a turbo, and the Swift Sport derivative will most likely feature the new 1.4-litre Boosterjet turbo petrol fitted in the Vitara S. The Sport will also get a bespoke suspension and brakes.
