To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the Convertible to the brand’s line-up, Mini has released a limited-run version of the drop-top machine.
With just 300 units being made, the 25th Anniversary edition has been built to celebrate the milestone, with the model currently in its fourth generation.
The Convertible was originally introduced as the Rover Mini Cabriolet back in 1993, and as well as having a strengthened body to differentiate it from the standard Cooper, it came with a walnut dashboard, a black leather steering wheel and colour coded seat belts to match to two body colour combinations – Caribbean Blue with a grey hood and Nightfire Red with matching roof.
After BMW bought Mini at the start of the Millennium, three generations have followed, and the latest has just received a mid-life update that includes new tech and design features.
To mark it out from other Convertible models, the 25th Anniversary edition comes with unique tread plates and plates, Satellite Grey leather upholstery, metallic blue bodywork, white body stripes and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

Built on the current Cooper S specification, the limited-edition also comes with the brand’s Chili design pack that adds sports seats and a sports leather steering wheel, the Navigation Plus pack and a Harmon Kardon stereo system.
With the Cooper S specification, that means models have a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 189bhp and can get from 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 143mph with the help of its dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission.
The 25th Anniversary limited edition costs £32,995.
