2018 Nissan LEAF appears in Japanese TV advert

More clues in regards the design and features of the 2018 Nissan LEAF have been revealed in a new TV advert for the electric car.

Nissan is building up more hype for its next-generation LEAF hatchback by featuring the electric family car in a television advert which is being broadcast in Japan.

The full public reveal of the new Nissan LEAF is due to take place at a set-piece event on 6th September. In the meantime, Nissan has been progressively teasing more and more clues of the new LEAF’s styling, as well as some of the new technology it will feature.

The TV advert, which you can watch just above, doesn’t give away much more that’s new in terms of the design but some details can be made out amongst all the close-ups and shadowy glimpses of the new LEAF.

There’s enough shown in the advert to get a look at the new LEAF’s taillights for the first time, as well as its new front grille and its overall silhouette. The advert also previews the new LEAF’s semi-autonomous driving features, as the car can be seen parking autonomously at one point without a driver behind the wheel.

Nissan’s new LEAF will be the first car from the Japanese manufacturer to be available with ProPilot, the most sophisticated autonomous driving assist system yet from the brand. With ProPilot onboard, the new LEAF will reportedly be able to drive itself on single-lane roads and learn more about roads which it goes through.

The new LEAF also has a new aerodynamics package which will significantly increase the car’s efficiency and the car has a lower ride height to improve stability through high speed corners.
