2018 Peugeot 308 Gets New Style and Tech

For its 2018 model year, Peugeot is revitalising its entire 308 range – including hatchback, SW estate and GTi models – by adding some new style and technology, ultimately bringing it more in-line with its new, uber-successful 3008 SUV. It is scheduled to hit UK roads in September 2017.

Described by the French carmaker as the “most connected and safest yet”, the new 308 is aimed at offering enhanced day-to-day media technology as well as a raft of safety-orientated gadgets.

From the outside, the 2018 308 gets reshaped front and rear bumpers, which echo its larger 3008 sibling, and all models now get the brand’s trademark ‘claw effect’ taillights as standard. Also, those looking to purchase the 308 GTi by Peugeot Sport hot hatch can now opt for the two-tone Coupe Franche paint job in Magnetic Blue and Black Perla Nera.

Interior wise, Active and Allure trims gain new seat fabrics and Allure, GT Line and GT models now benefit from a panoramic glass roof.

Peugeot’s i-Cockpit design remains proud in the cabin, complete with a minimalist layout and a shrunken, sports steering wheel. A 9.7-inch touchscreen is the centre of attention, housing the likes of Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control functions and a sat-nav with slick 3D graphic functionality. Drivers can also benefit from Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Screen.

A raft of safety features, carried over from the 3008 SUV, make an appearance too, including adaptive cruise control, active blind spot monitoring and speed limit recognition.

Managing Director at Peugeot UK, David Peel, said: “The new Peugeot 308 is now more competitive than ever. The new car adds to an already impressive technology offering, while new styling and interior options bolster the car’s kerbside appeal and bring it in line with the new Peugeot SUV family”.
