Audi has announced pricing and specification details for all new its A1, which is available to order now.
Buyers can no longer purchase a three-door variant, with the sole option being the five-door Sportback. This additional practicality is also helped through the car’s longer length, which improved boot and rear seat space.
The A1 features a look which harks back to the firm’s past motorsport models, thanks to the gap between the front bumper and the bonnet, and also the sloping C-pillar.
Just one engine is available from launch – a 114bhp turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol unit badged ’30 TFSI’. A smaller 94bhp variant of the engine will be added soon after launch, with 1.5- and 2.0-litre petrol engines also joining the line-up in the coming year.
Three trim levels are offered – SE, Sport and S line.
SE models start from £18,540, and come with LED front and rear lights, a 15-inch alloy wheels, automatic lights and wipers and an 8.8-inch touchscreen. All models also come with autonomous emergency braking and lane-departure warning.
See Available A1 DealsSport, priced from £20,010, adds 16-inch alloys, cruise control and rear parking sensors into the mix, while the top-of-the-range S line features its own styling kit, as well as half-leather seats, 17-inch alloy wheels and revised suspension.
Further editions will be added soon after launch – including the S line Competition (reserved for the powerful 197bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine) as well as S line Contrast and Style editions.
Order books are open now for the new A1, with first deliveries expected within the next month.
