Honda has unveiled the rejuvenated HR-V compact SUV, which will be delivered from October and comes with an altered design.

The Japanese brand has refined the exterior design to be sleeker than before, with the front-end incorporating a new bumper and a dark chrome panel. LED daytime running lights have also been added as a standard feature.

Chrome touches have also been added to the rear and the rear lights have darker casings than before. Top-spec models include a chrome finisher to the tailpipe, LED lights at the front and rear, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the HR-V comes with redesigned seats that provide more support than before and are upholstered in a higher quality fabric for improved comfort. Leather upholstery features on the top grade versions.

The HR-V also employs active noise cancellation technology – a first for a Honda – which uses internal microphones to monitor the amount of exterior noise entering the cabin and counteracts it with ‘reverse phase’ audio to cancel it out.

From launch, the HR-V comes with a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 128bhp and 155Nm of torque, which is paired to a six-speed manual or a CVT transmission. With the manual ‘box fitted, the HR-V can get from 0-60mph in 10.2 seconds.

Next spring, Honda will introduce a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel unit.

Prices for the new HR-V are yet to be confirmed.
