Little information about the 3 has been released, with Mazda stating the car will be introducing ‘a new era’, with the reveal coming in November.

By the look of the roofline shown in the video, the design of the 2019 3 will include references to the Kai Concept that was first display at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show – which included a sleek roofline and a short overhang over the rear axle.

This new version of the 3 is also likely to include the next generation in the brand’s engine technology, with the upcoming Skyactiv-X petrol units expected to achieve similar efficiency to diesel engines – with Mazda also aiming to reduce pollutants.

Mazda claims the Skyactiv-X engines will produce 10 to 30 per cent more torque than the current Skyactiv-G petrol engines, while improving fuel economy by approximately 20 per cent.

The teaser video only states that the model will be revealed in ‘November 2018’, with no official date for the new car’s reveal given.
