2019 Suzuki Jimny to start from £15,499

The new version of the compact off-roader will come in two trim levels and has four-wheel drive fitted as standard.

Suzuki has announced the pricing for the new Jimny, which goes on sale in the UK in January 2019.

The compact off-roader will have a starting price of £15,499 for the base SZ4 trim, with all models fitted with the AllGrip Pro selectable four-wheel drive system.

Under the bonnet of all Jimny models is a 99bhp 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine paired to a manual transmission – with SZ5 models available with an optional automatic gearbox.

As standard from the SZ4 spec, the Jimny comes with air conditioning, Bluetooth, DAB radio, dual sensor brake support emergency braking system, cruise control, front foglamps and low ratio transfer for the four-wheel drive system.

For SZ5 models, Suzuki adds 15-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, climate control, navigation screen with smartphone link, rear privacy glass, heated front seats and body-coloured door handles. Prices for the SZ5 start from £17,999.

All models also come with lane departure warning, weaving alert and high beam assist.

Six body colours will be available from launch for customers to choose from, including the new Kinetic Yellow that is designed to stand out in bad weather and on worksites. Metallic paints are a £485 option, while dual-tone metallic paintwork costs £650.

After the previous generation Jimy was released in 1998, this fourth iteration of the Jimny is the most advanced yet.
