2020 Hyundai i20 teased with sporty new look ahead of March debut

The all-new model will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

Hyundai has revealed the first teaser images of what’s expected to be the most radical i20 supermini yet.

The design sketches show a far more swoopy and sportier model than the existing car, with the new i20 being the first model to be sold in Europe to feature Hyundai’s latest ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language – as seen on the new Sonata that’s sold in the USA.

It looks to feature a much larger version of Hyundai’s cascading front grille to create a wider look, along with a more distinctive LED lighting signature. Far cooler new horizontal LED rear lights also feature.

While Hyundai hasn’t revealed any teasers of the new i20’s interior, the South Korean firm says that its cabin is all-new. Highlights are set to include a large 10.25-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster that’s the same size – something few superminis offer today.

This will be the third generation of the i20, which is one of the firm’s most popular models. The most recent version went on sale in 2014, though received a comprehensive update just two years ago.

The new model will be unveiled at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, with an N hot hatch version also rumoured to be on the way.
