Mazda’s MX-5 has been bolstered with a new range topping trim level that’s now on sale.
New for the roadster is GT Sport Tech, which brings a host of new features to one of the UK’s most popular sports cars. Fresh additions to this grade include 17-inch BBS alloy wheels and burgundy Nappa leather seats.
New safety equipment that now comes as standard across the whole MX-5 range includes lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, driver attention alert plus front and rear ‘Smart City Brake Support’ which aims to reduce the risk of low-speed collisions. Building on that further, Sport Tech and GT Sport Tech models benefit from adaptive LED headlights as well as a reversing camera.
Unaltered is the engine sitting underneath the car. GT Sport Tech is available exclusively with Mazda’ 2.0-litre MX-5, with this four-cylinder engine producing 181bhp and 205Nm of torque and sent to the rear wheels via the choice of an ultra-slick six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic alternative.
