2020 Mercedes-Benz Vito revealed with upgraded electric version on offer

Facelifted compact van features more equipment and increased range in eVito guise.

Mercedes-Benz has pulled back the covers on a revised version of its Vito van, with a much-improved range for the eVito.

Range-topping internal combustion versions of the freshly facelifted vans are powered by a 2.0-litre diesel unit with outputs ranging from 136bhp to 190bhp, linked to a nine-speed automatic gearbox in all guises. Mercedes says the engine is more efficient, less polluting and improves overall refinement of the Vito. There’s also a 1.6-litre unit as an entry point.

Key to this raft of changes is an upgraded all-electric variant of the eVito, only available as MPV ‘Tourer’ specification, which boasts a huge range increase. Its new 100kW battery promises up to 260 miles between charges, with 110kW fast charging tech allowing for a flat to 80 per cent top up in under 45 minutes.

Other highlights of this round of updates to the Vito includes the introduction of air suspension, an improved reversing camera, a digital rear-view mirror and an upgraded interior.

Pricing and specifications for the 2020 Mercedes Vito range have yet to be confirmed, though UK order books are said to be opening in Q2 for internal combustion variants and in summer for the eVito.
