2020 Vauxhall Insignia revealed

Refreshed saloon benefits from updated styling, new LED headlights and upgraded safety equipment.

Vauxhall has updated its popular Insignia for 2020, bringing the saloon into its most advanced form yet.

Though certainly evolution rather than revolution, subtle styling tweaks to the Vauxhall Insignia ensure it looks up to date.

Up front, new headlights are the centrepiece of the refresh and work with a larger radiator grille featuring more slats than before to enhance the fascia. LED daytime running lights have also been repositioned to the bottom of the headlights rather than on top.

It’s those new headlights that Vauxhall is most keen to shout about with this raft of changes to this Insignia, with the introduction its IntelliLux LED technology. Each light plays host to 84 LED bulbs rather than the previous 16, which the British firm says allows its automatic functions to react faster and more precisely.

Rounding out the raft of upgrades to the Insignia is a new suite of safety tech. A new rear-view camera is said to improve rearward vision, while optional rear cross traffic alert is able to detect objects 90 degrees either side of the car for improved reversing safety.

No word yet on what powertrains the new Vauxhall Insignia will feature but expect to hear more before closer to a 2020 launch. Pricing and specifications will likely follow early next year, too.
