Abarth unveils new 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition

Abarth has revealed a unique new special edition version of its 595 sports hatch, the 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition.

Designed in conjunction with Yamaha to celebrate Abarth’s position as the official sponsor and car supplier to the FIM MotoGP Championship, the new 595 features a range of race-inspired features.

A flat-bottomed leather steering wheel, aluminium pedals and a unique Yamaha Factory Racing badge as standard underpin its sport credentials, while a choice of seven bold colours are available.

Other standard kit includes 17-inch matt black alloys and dark tinted windows, while xenon lights, leather upholstery and dual-zone air con are available as options, along with painted side stripes.

Power comes courtesy of an uprated version of Abarth’s feisty 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine, which produces 158bhp, enough to take the 595 from 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds, with a 130mph top speed.

The Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition is further enhanced with a Record Monza sports exhaust, Koni shock absorbers and Eibach lowered springs for a more aggressive on-road stance.

Gerry Southerington, Abarth UK’s brand manager, said: “The new 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition adds a new dimension to the Abarth 595 line-up.

“With an upgrade to 160 horsepower, lowered suspension, sporting looks and a great sounding exhaust system, we expect a lot of interest in this car from Abarth enthusiasts and new customers alike.”

The new Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition is available to order in the UK now, with prices starting from just £17,420.
