Alfa Romeo 4C Spider comes to Geneva

The convertible version of the Alfa Romeo 4C sports car – the 4C Spider - is set to be showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

Although featuring the same chiselled body and iconic Alfa Romeo grille as the Coupe, the new 4C Spider has noticeably different aesthetics. As well as the addition of a foldable cloth roof, the Spider is significantly different at the rear, as it now features a body-coloured engine cover and three heat extractors. A new Giallo (yellow) paint job has been added to the pallet as well, making it stand out from the standard model.

Powering the 4C Spider is the same 237bhp 1750 TBi engine as featured in the Coupe model. This allows for a top speed of 160mph and a sprightly zero to 60mph time of less than 4.5 seconds.

Optional kit on the new 4C Spider includes a titanium exhaust system, which comes with switchable driving characteristics, a number of new wheel designs, a new audio system and there is even the option of a carbon fibre hardtop.

On top of its optional equipment, the 4C Spider features standard kit that is only available as an option on the Coupe model. This includes carbon fibre surrounds on the interior, parking sensors, cruise control and a car cover.

With the added standard kit and convertible roof comes a higher price tag, as the Alfa Romeo 4C starts at £8,000 more than the Coupe model, coming in at £59,500. The new Alfa Romeo 4C will be on show from 5 – 15 March at the Geneva Motor Show, going on sale in the UK this summer.
