Alfa Romeo accidentally unveils new Stelvio SUV before you were meant to see it

The upcoming Alfa Romeo Stelvio crossover has been unveiled for the first time in a new factory tour video. Except, you weren't really meant to see it...

The new Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the first crossover SUV from the Italian manufacturer, has been unveiled – albeit accidentally.

Although the car isn’t supposed to be properly revealed until later this year, Alfa’s parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles unwittingly featured a shot of the Stelvio in a new factory tour video.

The blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment has since been removed from FCA’s YouTube channel and the video replaced with an edited copy, but other publications have since re-uploaded the original:

From the look of it, the Stelvio borrows quite heavily from the design of the new Giulia saloon, a look which has also recently been inherited by the facelifted MiTo and Giulietta models.

This isn’t all that surprising, as although there isn’t much known about the Alfa crossover yet, it’s expected to share the same platform as the Giulia is built on, along with the Giulia’s engines.

Alfa Romeo is still keeping mum about the whole thing though, so you can expect to find out more about the Stelvio towards the end of this year.
