Alfa Romeo range: What’s on offer?

Looking for a new car from this Italian marque, here are the models available

Alfa Romeo has undergone somewhat of a rebirth in recent years, introducing more modern and appealing cars, but with the same focus on style and a fun driving experience as ever.

While offering a more condensed range next to plenty of its German rivals, there is still a range of models from affordable diesel hatchbacks through to performance SUVs.

So if you fancy something a bit different to your typical Audi and Mercedes in the premium class, here’s what the Alfa Romeo has to offer.

Giulietta – from £22,495

The most affordable way of getting behind the wheel of a new Alfa Romeo, the Giulietta is a stylish hatchback that’s also great to drive – bringing some Italian charm to the compact family car segment.

Available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines returning up to 51.4mpg, standard equipment is also generous, including cruise control, dual-zone climate control and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Giulia – from £34,995

The model that helped to reinvent Alfa Romeo, the Giulia combines the traditional Alfa Romeo traits – style and a great driving experience – with refinement, comfort and a high-quality cabin. If you’re looking at an Audi A4 or Mercedes C-Class in the compact executive car class, the Giulia should undoubtedly be added to your shortlist.

Recent updates have seen an uplift in material quality, along with new driver assistance tech and a revised infotainment system that’s now easier to use than before. With a selection of punchy petrol engines and efficient diesel options, the Giulia is a very impressive option.

Giulia Quadrifoglio – from £67,195

Given the standard Giulia is so brilliant to drive, it was a delightful base for a new Quadrifoglio model – a return to performance saloons for the Italian maker.

And with a truly brilliant 503bhp 2.9-litre biturbo V6 petrol engine under the bonnet – enabling a 0-60mph time of just 3.6 seconds – saloons don’t come much hotter than this. Yet despite the performance and thrills, it’s also comfortable, refined and practical.

Stelvio – from £39,620

Alfa Romeo might have been later to the SUV segment than most, but with its first effort – the Stelvio – it quickly demonstrated that this firm meant business. Few cars of this type are more enjoyable behind the wheel, while it also brings a welcome dose of glamour to this class as well.

Just like the Giulia it’s based on, it’s recently benefited from a 2020 update, which has helped to make it an even better competitor to the likes of the Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60 than ever before.

Stelvio Quadrifoglio – from £73,195

Performance SUVs are often dismissed for not being as fun or as engaging as a saloon or traditional sports car, but with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, it proves that certainly doesn't have to be the case.

In fact it’s so good to drive that you forget you’re actually in an SUV, while it shares the same engine with the Giulia Quadrifoglio – the only real difference being that it’s all-wheel-drive, as opposed to rear-wheel-drive.
