All-new Skoda Octavia with design sketches

The styling reveals that the model is likely to head upmarket.

Skoda has given us the first proper glimpse at what the fourth-generation Octavia will look like with two design sketches.

Ahead of the model’s imminent unveiling at the end of October, the Czech manufacturer’s sketches show that the new car is likely to be more upmarket than ever — taking several cues from the new Kamiq and Scala.

While not being a direct resemblance to the production model, the sketches clearly show the new Octavia will feature a more stylish grille, more of a coupe-like profile and new slimmer rear LED lights — these clearly resembling those of other Skodas.

The Czech brand’s new ‘SKODA’ lettering will also appeal at the rear, which replaces the traditional Skoda badge. This has already been implemented across much of the line-up.

The brand is promising that the new Octavia will again set the standards for interior space – one of the current model’s strongest traits. An interior similar to that of the Scala is expected, too.

The 2020 model is also set to introduce electrification into the Skoda range, with scope for mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, though this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

The Octavia is expected to be revealed at a similar time to the Volkswagen Golf, which is unveiled on October 24 and shares many parts with the Skoda model.
