All Vauxhall-driving NHS workers to get free roadside assistance

The offer is extended to Vauxhalls of all ages and mileages

Vauxhall has announced that it will offer free roadside assistance to all NHS workers driving one of its models, regardless of age.

Free roadside assistance was previously just offered to buyers of new Vauxhall models for 12 months, however this offer from the firm is available to any NHS staff member, no matter how old their car is or how many miles it has covered. Vauxhall has also added that it doesn’t matter if a car hasn’t been serviced and maintained at one of its dealers, either.

The brand’s service is available regardless of where the car is broken down – meaning both home and roadside assistance is available.

Workers will endeavour to repair the car where it’s broken down, though if that isn’t possible it will be recovered to a Vauxhall authorised repairer or independent garage within a 10-mile radius, and then a taxi can be provided for occupants to get home afterwards.

Stephen Norman, managing director of Vauxhall, said: “Vauxhall is committed to providing continued support to essential services and key workers, many of whom drive Vauxhalls, during this time.

“Keeping our NHS colleagues mobile is vital, and will hopefully offer some reassurance to them while they go about their business.”

NHS workers that have breakdowns in their Vauxhalls should call 0800 197 2049 and quote ‘NHS key worker’ over the phone. They will then be asked which model they’re driving, its registration, the exact location and the reason for breakdown, if known. NHS staff should then provide their smart card or trust ID badge to show their eligibility.
