All you need to know about the new Toyota Aygo x-cite

Following the release of the latest update to the Toyota Aygo, we take a look at the x-cite trim level, which comes with plenty of equipment and interesting features.

The Toyota Aygo is currently in its second generation, and following a reveal at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the facelifted version has just gone on sale.

All the trim levels have gone through a light refresh to keep the Japanese supermini up to speed with its rivals, including the mid-level x-cite option.

Sitting between the x-plore and x-clusiv specs, x-cite is a great middle ground for the Aygo and comes with more than enough features to interest you. We take a closer look at the special edition trim here…

What do you get?

All higher level Aygo models branch from the x-play model, which means the x-cite comes with a leather multifunctional steering wheel, air conditioning, Bluetooth and a DAB digital radio, as well as daytime running lights and electric front windows.

In the high spec x-cite, customers will find red and black dual-tone bodywork, 15-inch black alloy wheels with red caps, automatic headlights, front fog lights, rear privacy glass, black fabric seats with red detailing, a gloss black dashboard and red air vent surrounds for the automatic air conditioning.

The central touchscreen is a seven-inch unit that comes with smartphone connectivity and a reversing camera view when parking. For a small city car, that’s a lot of kit as standard.

What options can you add to it?

To complement the seven-inch infotainment system, customers can spec x-nav satellite navigation that gives you all the features you would expect as well as speed limit and speed camera alerts and navigation for 33 European countries.

The OUTshield pack option is also on offer, which adds rear parking sensors, aluminium scuff plates, a plastic boot liner, rubber floor mats and mud flaps for the front and rear wheels.

The Toyota Safety Sense system can also be applied, which adds pre-collision braking and lane departure assist.
