ArcFox-7, China's electric car that's faster than a LaFerrari

Just as technology from Formula One cars has dripped down over the years into standard road cars, now it’s Formula E’s turn.

Meet the ArcFox-7, an all-new and all-electric supercar that’s been unveiled in China by the Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation and Spanish racing team Campos Racing.

Built in China but designed in Spain and informed by the design of Formula E racing cars, the ArcFox-7 packs a 603bhp electric motor that can shoot it from 0-62mph in just 2.8 seconds.

As a result, it’s faster than many of the world’s current fastest and most desirable exotics, including the LaFerrari, the Koenigsegg Agera R and the Porsche 918 Spyder.

Perhaps more important, its 6.6kWh battery means that it has a range of more than 185 miles, but it’s likely it wouldn’t last long if you’re blasting it flat out at its top speed of upwards of 160mph.

Its motorsport theme is more than skin deep too, and it’s actually loosely built on the same underpinning as the NextEV Team China Racing Formula E racing car.

As a result, it comes outfitted with a full range of racecar-esque touches, including bucket seats with four-point racing harnesses, carbon fibre trimmings and an F1-style steering wheel.

Of course, it won’t be coming here to the UK and is instead reportedly going to be built in small numbers in its domestic market and for track-use only.
