Aston Martin has partnered with submersible manufacturer Triton to help design a limited edition model, codenamed Project Neptune.

The premium car maker is looking to expand its brand in the luxury market, and with this venture they are looking to spread their name beyond high-end road cars.

To be officially revealed at this week’s Monaco Yacht Show, this is the second year running that Aston has revealed a special-edition nautical model at the event.

Last year it unveiled the AM37 and AM37S powerboats in partnership with Quintessence Yachts, which came with a premium finish and was capable of fitting eight people.

Project Neptune is a three-seat concept that uses the latest technology from Triton and Aston Martin’s material and design capabilities to create the ultimate luxury submersible.

Aston Martin chief creative officer and executive vice president Marek Reichman said: "Project Neptune is defined by its sleek, elegant exterior. We have used forms and proportions that express the same devotion to design, engineering and beauty that shape our cars, such as the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar project."

Triton Submarines president Patrick Lahey said: “We have always admired Aston Martin. The marque represents a deeply held passion for technology, engineering and timeless, elegant design. From our first interaction, it was apparent that Triton and Aston Martin were natural partners and our complimentary values will be realised in this truly exciting project.”

The process will be overseen by Aston Martin Consulting and its managing director Bradley Yorke-Briggs added: "Project Neptune is a flagship project for Aston Martin Consulting. It is a clear and engaging demonstration of how Aston Martin’s expertise in sports car design and craftsmanship can be extended into new aspects of the luxury world.”
