Audi Q4 e-tron teased before debut at Geneva Motor Show

Before the conventional model is expected to go into production this year, Audi will be revealing the all-electric prototype version.

Audi has teased its next all-electric production model – the Q4 e-tron.

The German brand will be taking the covers off the first version of the zero-emission model at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, which opens to the public on March 7.

Although a conventional fuel-powered version is yet to be unveiled, this model is expected to be a precursor to the standard production model that should be in circulation by the end of the year.

In-line with the rest of Audi’s SUV nomenclature, the Q4 is likely to be a similar size to the Q3 but with a coupe-like body style – putting it up against the likes of the BMW X4 and Mercedes GLC Coupe.

The cabin appears to come with similar features to recent models, such as the large central touchscreen and digital instrument display – with the details looking quite simple.

As of yet, there are no details about the powertrain and performance, but we can expect the production version to come with a smaller but more advanced iteration of the e-tron SUV’s system – which comes with two electric motors and upwards of 400bhp.

Audi as said that the final version of the e-tron will be revealed towards the end of 2020 or the start of 2021 – with production starting soon after. The conventional Q4 is set to go on sale towards the end of this year.
