Audi R8 Spyder adds V10 Plus model

Audi has revealed a convertible version of its R8 Spyder V10 Plus, which goes on sale at the end of this month priced from £147,470.

The V10 Plus version of the R8, which has 69bhp more than the regular R8, was up until now only available for the R8 coupe. But now the most potent version of Audi’s supercar is available for the Spyder, and this is set to be the final addition made to the R8 range. Audi has no plans to add any more variants to the R8 line-up.

Boasting 602bhp in total and weighing 25kg less than the regular R8 V10 Spyder, the Plus version of the Spyder trims down the 0-62mph sprint time by three tenths of a second to just 3.3 seconds in total. The top speed is also increased by 6mph to 206mph in total.

Distinguishing the Plus further from the regular R8 Spyder is styling changes such as new carbon fibre trim in place of the standard gloss black trim details. The exhaust system is also replaced with a new design featuring four instead of two pipes and carbon ceramic brakes plus black alloy wheels are also standard. Inside meanwhile, the Plus also has buckets seats as standard.

Standard kit for the R8 Spyder V10 Plus includes Audi’s Virtual Cockpit display, black Nappa leather, wi-fi hotspot and seatbelt microphones for optimal audio quality.
