Audi Sport unveils new performance parts for the R8 and TT

Audi Sport has unveiled a new range of optional performance parts for the TT coupe and R8 supercar, which will be available from this summer.

Audi’s Sport wing has unveiled a new range of retrofit performance parts designed to add a little extra motorsport-inspired mojo to the TT coupe and the R8 supercar.

It’s not just a couple of stickers and some lip spoilers either; the new performance parts catalogue includes everything from full aero kits to lightweight steering wheels and carbon strut braces.

Buyers can specify things like uprated brake lines to reduce brake fade for track driving, as well as a choice of two- or three-way adjustable coilover springs for the suspension.

Lightweight 20-inch milled wheels are available, which Audi Sport says can save up to 8kg in unsprung mass, along with sports steering wheels upholstered in full Alcantara and fitted with carbon-reinforced plastic shift paddles.

Perhaps most impressively of all are the aero kits available for the TT and the R8, which add all sorts of imposing-looking add-ons like front canards, rear diffusers and huge rear wings.

It’s not just for looks either; in the case of the R8 Audi says that the new bodykit option will nearly double the amount of downforce the car makes when travelling at top speed.

Other choice options include extra-loud Akrapovich exhausts for both cars, along with a carbon rear strut brace for the TT, which takes the place of the rear seats and can save up to 20kg in weight while also increasing body rigidity.

The Audi Sport performance parts are due to be launched this summer in Germany, with the option expected to be extended to the UK market sometime later in the year.
