Audi has introduced a limited-run version of the R8 that makes it more performance-focused than ever, and only five will be coming to British shores.
The Audi Sports Performance Parts package is being applied to just 44 R8 V10 Plus units globally and it features an exclusive Misano Red paint job.
Under the bonnet is the naturally-aspirated V10 unit found in the standard model, which produces 601bhp and 560Nm of torque and means a top speed of 205mph. It can get from 0-60mph in three seconds flat with the help of the quattro all-wheel drive system.
All of the additional parts for the model come from Audi’s Performance Parts department, such as the extensive body kit made from CRFP that was developed in a wind tunnel and the milled 20-inch multi-spoke black wheels that are 8kg lighter than the ones fitted to the standard model.
The aerodynamic parts include a large fixed wing and diffuser with red elements at the rear, side skirts with Audi Sport logos and rear wheel arches that focus the airflow, and pronounced elements and a splitter on the front end.
All of these contribute to increased levels of downforce to make the R8 V10 Plus feel more like a racecar for the road than ever before.
Inside, models still come with an alcantara-trimmed steering wheel, bucket seats in leather upholstery, a rear-view camera, the Virtual Cockpit dial display, satellite navigation and Audi’s smartphone interface.
Prices are set at £176,560 and the units will be sold on a first-come first-serve basis.
