Audi unveils new RS4 Avant

The estate model comes with a 2.8-litre biturbo V6 producing 444bhp

German manufacturer Audi has taken the covers off its latest RS model – the RS 4 Avant.

Based on the Audi A4 Avant estate model, the RS4 Avant comes with a twin-turbocharged, 2.8-litre V6 that’s paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and Audi’s world-renowned quattro all-wheel-drive system.

That combination of drive and engine means that the RS4 Avant gets from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and onto a limited top speed of 155mph. The optional RS dynamic pack means that the limiter is taken off and the car can get up to 174mph.

Underneath Audi fits RS sport suspension as standard, while Dynamic Ride Control, ceramic brakes and RS dynamic steering system are available as optional extras.

On the outside, the RS4 Avant looks meaner than the standard model thanks to its black honeycomb grille, large front inlets, angular LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels and an RS rear spoiler. You also get an RS exhaust system and the exclusive Nogaro blue body colour.

The interior is premium in finish and feel as it comes with leather RS sport seats, a leather multifunctional steering wheel, leather trim and Audi’s innovative Virtual Cockpit display placed in the instrument binnacle.

Managing director of Audi Sport Stephan Winkelmann said: “The Audi RS4 Avant is our RS icon with an incomparable history. In common with all our RS models, it blends immense power output with superlative everyday utility.”

The RS4 Avant goes on sale later this month with prices starting from £61,625. Deliveries start in early 2018.
