The Duster, like all other Dacia models, is built to be simple to operate and easy to maintain – but even this model is available with quality equipment. Kit such as climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, satellite navigation, all-around cameras engaged by putting the car in reverse, cruise control with speed limiter and blind spot warning are all available on the Duster – which make it feel much better value for money, even in its top-spec.
Lots of space
Despite residing at the smaller end of the crossover and SUV segments, the Duster does come with plenty of space in the cabin, as well as some great storage solutions. For example, the front-wheel drive models come with sliding rear seats to either improve passenger space or room in the rear, while there are a series of cubby holes and bins to use throughout the cabin. The boot space of 445 litres isn’t bad either, and when the seats are folded down that can be extended to 1,623 litres.

Good off the beaten track
You may not expect the Duster to be great off tarmac, but with its high ground clearance, chunkier plastic cladding and option of four-wheel drive with the 1.6-litre petrol engine, it can do much better than you might think. Add to that hill descent control and hill start assist as part of the electronic stability programme, and you’ve got a car that can go off-road better than any at this price point.

Pricing for the compact SUV starts from just £9,995, with the top level Prestige models only costing £14,695 and that one is specced as well as similarly sized vehicles for much less money.
