Bentley announces exclusive Mulsanne 6.75 Edition to end production of luxury limo

The 6.75 Edition is inspired by Bentley’s legendary 6¾-litre engine.

Bentley has announced a limited final run of its largest Mulsanne luxury limo to mark the end of production.

The Mulsanne has acted as Bentley’s flagship since its introduction in 2010, with the firm announcing that it’s unlikely that there will be a successor, as the Flying Spur will act as the new luxury limo.

To mark production ending at the end of spring, Bentley has announced that 30 ‘6.75 Editions’ will be produced in partnership with the brand’s Mulliner bespoke design division. It takes its name from the 6¾-litre V8 engine that underpins it – this being the longest-serving engine of its kind in continuous production – celebrating 60 years in 2020. In the Mulsanne the engine produces an impressive 530bhp and 1,100Nm of torque.

To celebrate this engine, the model features unique cues including miniature versions of the engine oil cap used for the climate controls, a ‘6.75’ motif being etched into the seats, while also being projected from the puddle lights, too.

The exterior gets the gloss black treatment, as well as 21-inch alloy wheels from the Mulsanne Speed. Under the bonnet where that all-important engine lies, Bentley is making the intake manifold black, rather than the traditional silver. Bentley’s chairman and CEO Adrian Hallmark will also be signing the engine plaque on each model, too.

Lucky owners can choose four different colour leather hides for their interior. Contrasting-coloured mats, door inserts and stitching will also feature.

Chris Craft, member of the board for marketing and aftersales at Bentley Motors, said: “The Mulsanne has played a pivotal role in maintaining Bentley’s position as global leader of the luxury limousine segment.

“The flagship of our model range, its longevity is a testament to our ongoing commitment to hand-building the finest motor cars in the world. The new Mulsanne 6.75 Edition is the culmination of that achievement.”
