BMW expands M Performance Parts catalogue onto flagship SUVs

Models such as the X6 and recently unveiled X5 M and X6 M can be fitted with parts developed by BMW’s M division.

Following closely in the footsteps of yesterday’s announcement of the X5 and X6 M Competition – the brand’s most powerful SUVs to date – BMW has unveiled its latest range of M Performance parts.

These can be fitted to the X5 M and X6 M, though the main attraction is that the new range accessories are also available on non-performance versions of the X5, X6 and flagship X7.

The features are developed by BMW’s M division, and allow for more bespoke customisation.

Buyers of the X6, X6 M and X5 M can choose to have carbon detailing on their car – including having carbon accents on the front grille, rear diffuser and side sills. Gloss black spoilers and fins are also offered.

While M Performance Parts tends to be tailored around cosmetic upgrades (rather than performance), the same performance braking system on the X5 and X6 M can be had on the regular X6. These offer a much sharper response, while featuring red brake callipers. Jet Black 22-inch alloy wheels are also available on both the regular X6 and X7, too.

Performance Parts also extends to the interior, too, which includes options such as an Alcantara ‘M’ steering wheel, which can also be had in carbon. Special floor mats, stainless steel pedals and carbon-look gear shift paddles are also offered.

And if you’re looking to show off your large BMW SUV further, you can even opt for LED door projectors (or puddle lights), which illuminate the floor as soon as the door is opened. A bit flash, but a great way to make your X6 stand out from the crowd.
