BMW unveils new special-edition M4 Competition x KITH

Just 150 examples will be produced

The first new BMW M4s have not even arrived in showrooms yet, but the German manufacturer has already unveiled the first special edition – the x KITH.

Just 150 are being produced in collaboration with New York lifestyle brand Kith, and feature that brand’s logos on the boot lid, and with BMW M stripes in the same colour. The carbon bucket seats are also embossed, while the brand’s emblem also illuminates the interior.

All special editions come painted in matte paint finishes Frozen Black, Frozen Dark Silver and Frozen Brilliant White, along with a carbon grille, which can include Kith lettering woven into it as an optional extras.

The new M4 Competition’s six-cylinder engine is unchanged compared to the standard car – producing 503bhp and 650Nm of torque, and enabling a 0-60mph time of 3.7 seconds.

The design collaboration comes from Kith’s founder Ronnie Fieg, who is also a BMW enthusiast, and has a special version of the original BMW M3 – the E30 – that has been adapted to feature various ‘Kith’ touches.

BMW is yet to announce pricing for the M4 Competition x KITH special edition, though expect a noticeable increase on top of the £76,055 starting price. It’s now available to pre-order, with first deliveries expected in summer 2021.
