Chevrolet Camaro 50th anniversary model revealed

One of the most popular muscle cars in the world, the Chevrolet Camaro, is celebrating its 50th anniversary and its makers are marking the occasion with a new special edition styling pack.

Design updates

Available for the coupe and cabriolet versions of the Camaro from this summer, the Chevrolet Camaro 50th Anniversary features styling tweaks for both the exterior and interior.

On the outside, the Camaro Anniversary sports a Nightfall Grey Metallic paint job and there’s stain chrome on the front splitter, grille and the twenty-inch wheels. There’s also orange detailing on the bonnet and brake calipers which strongly contrasts with the grey body paint. A badge that reads ‘Fifty’ is another piece of decoration for the exterior.

Inside, the Camaro with the 50th Anniversary pack receives black leather with suede inserts and orange stitching and more ‘Fifty’ badges are included. The steering wheel, seats, sills and instrument cluster all sport the badge which serves as a reminder to passengers of the Camaro’s lengthy and proud history. Pricing for the 50th Anniversary pack has yet to be confirmed.

Although Chevrolet officially pulled out of the British car market last year, the brand’s performance cars – the Camaro and the Corvette – can still be ordered from a small network of UK dealerships.

The Chevrolet Camaro was first introduced back in 1966 and was created to allow General Motors to compete with the similarly iconic Ford Mustang.
