Citroen C3 Aircross surpasses 200,000 sales

French hatch proves popular globally, with 17,000 finding a home in the UK.

Citroen’s C3 Aircross is proving a popular choice on the new car market, with the model now having surpassed 200,000 sales around the globe.

Launched in October 2017, the car is now Citroen’s second-best seller, sitting behind the regular C3 hatchback. Almost 60,000 have been bought across Europe in 2019, while 17,000 in total have found owners in the UK.

It now sits as the sixth-best seller in the European compact SUV segment — no small feat considering how hot the competition is today.

In total, 60 per cent of Citroen C3 Aircross models have been in the range-topping Flair trim, while 30 per cent have been specified with an optional ‘interior ambiance’ customisation options. A quarter of cars have been optioned with a contrasting roof, while 20 per cent feature ‘Colour Pack’ — which adds coloured inserts on the roof bars, quarter panel decoration, mirrors and headlamp surrounds.

Earlier this year, Citroen added the ‘Origins’ trim to the C3 Aircross range. This special edition car celebrates 100 years since the French firm was founded, and features enhanced visuals thanks to a black bi-tone roof, white ‘Venetian blind’ rear quarter panels and a bespoke interior pack.

It also features a wealth of equipment, including Citroen’s Connect Box with SOS and Assistance, Connect Nav, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear parking sensors, automatic lights and wipers plus an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
