Dacia gives first look at new Sandero

The Sandero is currently the UK’s most affordable new car

Dacia has unveiled the official pictures of its new Sandero supermini and more rugged Sandero Stepway, which will be unveiled in full later this month.

The Sandero, which is the UK’s cheapest new car with a starting price of just £6,995, has been on sale in the UK since 2013 (when Dacias were first introduced to British shores), and is also available with a more rugged-looking Stepway version.

And now the Renault-owned brand has given us the first official look at the new models, which gain fresher and curvier styling compared to the outgoing car. It also comes with cool new Y-shaped LED lights at the front and rear. The model also appears to grow in size – becoming more practical than the current Sandero.

Stepway versions are separated by their roof bars, revised front end and increased ride height.

When it comes to details, Dacia is being tight-lipped about the new model, with no interior pictures unveiled and no further information on the technology and design. That said, the new Sandero is likely to sit on Renault’s new CMF-B platform, which underpins the new Clio and Captur, and allows for an improved drive and more space.

The Sandero and Sandero Stepway will be unveiled in full on September 29, alongside the Logan saloon – a model that’s not available in the UK.
