Driving Test Changes 4th December 2017: You Must Know How to Use a Sat Nav

It has been announced that the driving test changes for 2017 will be put into effect later this year on December 4th, which include a new section that requires all learners to be able to use a sat nav.

Other new additions to the new driving test that will be brought in this December include an extended independent driving section of the test and a theory question that will be asked while the candidate is driving, while the 'reverse around a corner' manoeuvre will be replace with more realistic road scenarios.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) are bringing in these changes to ensure that the driving tests stay relevant to upcoming generations of new drivers – the growing popularity of sat nav devices and smartphones being a huge factor.
