Dwayne Johnson unveils the cars of Fast and Furious 8

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has unveiled a sneak peek at some of the cars you can expect to see in the upcoming eight installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise.

It’s one of the most anticipated movies of next year and now Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has offered a sneak peek at some of the cars due to feature in Fast 8.

The actor posted a short video on Instagram which features cars like the Dodge Viper ACR, various Ferraris and Porsches, along with a Rolls-Royce, an Aston Martin and at least one Audi.

Interestingly, it appears as though Fast 8 will feature the Nissan IDx, a compact rear-wheel drive coupe concept that was first unveiled back in 2013 at the Tokyo Auto Show.

Lamborghinis, Ferraris and the fastest ever Viper

Johnson’s clip also shows a Lamborghini Gallardo and, because it wouldn’t be Fast and Furious without one, a MkIV Toyota Supra though the vinyl graphics and NOS stickers are noticeably absent.

Other behind the scenes promo clips from the eight instalment of the Fast and the Furious franchise have shown a white Subaru WRX STi and the films’ hero car, a modified Dodge Charger.

The original Fast and the Furious was released 15 years ago this month and to celebrate several cinemas are screening the original movie along with an exclusive first look at Fast 8.

WRX STi and iconic Charger to return

As with the previous instalments, it looks as though Fast 8 is aiming to go ever bigger and ever better, with more complex stunts, an all-star cast and more exotic cars than before.

Filming for the latest movie began earlier this year in Cuba, Iceland and the US and Fast 8 is due for release in April 2017.
