First look at the unmasked Jaguar F-PACE

Jaguar has officially lifted the veil on the first official image of the all-new F-PACE performance crossover ahead of its public debut this month.

The first official image of the all-new Jaguar F-PACE performance crossover undisguised has been released, ahead of the car’s official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Previously, pictures of Jaguar’s first-ever attempt at a crossover saw the car shrouded in camouflage wraps, but the marque has now offered the first proper glimpse of the final product.

Aiming to topple premium rivals like the Audi Q5 and Porsche Macan, Jaguar states that the new F-PACE is “a performance crossover designed for those who love driving”.

Due to make its first public appearance in Frankfurt later this month, the F-PACE is then expected to go on sale in the UK from early next year, with prices estimated to start from around £30,000.

Part-inspired by Jaguar’s range of performance cars, the F-PACE will borrow the same four-wheel drive system from the F-TYPE sports car, and features a lightweight aluminium body architecture.

Similar to that already found in the new XE and XF models, the aluminium construction reduces the amount of steel used in the car, cutting weight dramatically and improving structural rigidity.

Designed to marry the versatility of a family crossover with a high-performance attitude, Jaguar claims the F-PACE will offer class-leading interior space with “exceptional on-road dynamics”.

Ian Callum, Jaguar’s director of design, said: “The Jaguar F-PACE, inspired by the F-TYPE, represents a perfectly judged balance of performance, style and practicality.

“It offers a unique combination of Jaguar sports car inspired exterior design, fused beautifully with a thoroughly practical and spacious luxury interior. The F-PACE is our family sports car.”

Full specifications and pricing have yet to be revealed, but more details are expected to be confirmed when the new Jaguar F-PACE makes its official public debut later this month.
