Ford Fiesta range updated and more efficient for 2015

Ford has introduced several updates to select models in the Fiesta supermini range, including a more efficient ECOnetic model and new exterior colours.

The diesel-run Fiesta ECOnetic has a new 94bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine, which delivers greater fuel efficiency and an even lower CO2 output than the 1.6-litre unit it replaces. This helps to greater cement the Fiesta ECOnetic’s position as one of the cheapest new superminis for running costs.

Featuring start-stop technology as standard, as well as regenerative charging brakes and low rolling resistance tyres, the new Fiesta ECOnetic officially records 88.3mpg. That’s an improvement from 85.6mpg recorded previously.

CO2 emissions for the updated ECOnetic are also reduced by 5g/km to a total of just 82g/km. That new figure is 16g/km less compared to the Fiesta’s ECOnetic emissions back in 2008.

The updated Fiesta ECOnetic also features the Ford SYNC voice-controlled connectivity system onboard. The new ECOnetic engine is available now for the Fiesta in Style, Zetec and Titanium trim levels.

In other update news for the Fiesta, the 138bhp 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which was previously only available to the Red and Black Editions, is now available for the Zetec S trim. This is the most powerful EcoBoost unit for the Fiesta and it averages 62.8mpg and emits 104g/km. DAB radio is also now a free option for the Zetec S trim.

All trims for the Fiesta apart from the standard Studio model now feature LED daytime running lights as standard.

The two new exterior paint jobs for the Fiesta range include a metallic grey finish called ‘Magnetic’ and ‘Candy Red’.
