Ford Focus RS surpasses 2,300 orders as launch nears

Ford has revealed that its new Focus RS has now surpassed 2,300 UK orders as the hot hatch’s launch this spring draws near.

Strong demand

Priced from £29,995, the Ford Focus RS has attracted plenty of intrigue with its four-wheel drive set-up, 345bhp 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and various onboard functions like the drift mode button.

Ford will no doubt be pleased with the level of demand for its latest hot hatch. The manufacturer revealed back in October last year that the number of UK orders had surpassed 1,500 units. In light of its latest achievement, Ford has detailed customer preferences when ordering their new Focus RS.

Optional kit proving popular

Ford has revealed that out of all the new Focus RS models ordered by Brits so far, as many as 89 per cent of them have been specced with the optional Luxury Pack. This pack adds power-fold door mirrors, rear parking sensors, Ford KeyFree System, cruise control and privacy glass.

89 per cent of customers have also opted to include Ford SYNC 2 navigation and premium sound system.

Of the five different colour finishes available, Nitrous Blue is by far the most popular so far with 61 per cent of buyers opting for this. Frozen white is the next most popular paint scheme, picked by 15 per cent, while third is Shadow Black picked by 10 per cent of customers.

Ford has also confirmed that 85 per cent of customers have ordered the optional blue-painted brake callipers and 19-inch black forged wheels.

In an additional bit of news, Ford has also revealed that it has so far received 2,650 UK orders for its right-hand-drive Mustang and customer deliveries are currently in progress.
