Ford produced the two most popular vehicles on sale in October, with the Fiesta supermini and Transit Custom leading the way for the American brand.
With the C-Max, Galaxy, Transit Courier, Transit Connect, Tourneo Custom and Ranger all leading their respective segments as well, Ford was the most successful manufacturer last month.
The success of the Transit Custom led to Ford having a 33.2 per cent stake in the commercial vehicle market – more than double of second-placed Volkswagen and a share up two per cent on the same month in 2017.
This successful October means that the Transit Custom range – which includes the Tourneo Custom people carrier – is now the third best-selling vehicle range in the UK this year, with almost 52,000 units sold since January.

Only the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Golf line-ups are more successful than the Transit Custom – with the best-selling supermini being sold 84,980 times and the German hatchback at 55,927 unit sales in 2018.
The Transit Custom line-up starts from £21,895 and is available in three body types and many different sizes for each. The Tourneo Custom people carrier starts from £37,756.
