Ford has unveiled a sporty new trim level for its hugely popular Fiesta and Focus ranges, inspired by the marque’s performance cars and called the ST-Line.
The new ST-Line trims will replace the existing Zetec S specification in both line-ups and, like the Zetec S, is designed for customers who want the looks of a hot hatch but not the compromises.
Both the Fiesta and the Focus ST-Line models are still available with the efficient and powerful EcoBoost petrol engines, along with upgraded alloy wheels and slightly sportier suspension.
Replacement for Zetec S
The Fiesta ST-Line is available in both three-door and five-door formats, and the Focus version is available in both five-door hatchback format and as the five-door estate.
Both get styling inspired by the Fiesta and Focus ST ranges, which includes a honeycombed design for the front grille, large bumper lip spoilers and larger rear spoilers, plus a rear diffuser element.
Enlarged side skirts come as standard along with metallic grey alloys, sports seats with red stitching and an ST-inspired interior which includes a steering wheel wrapped in perforated leather.
Hot hatch looks without the compromises
Fiesta models are available with the critically acclaimed 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine in three states of tune, starting with 99bhp while more powerful 123bhp and 138bhp versions are available too.
Buyers can also opt for a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 94bhp, and the Fiesta ST-Line comes with a five-speed manual gearbox and sports suspension that’s been 10mm lower than the standard car.
Focus ST-Line models get the same lower suspension and an engine line-up which consists of the 123bhp 1.0-litre EcoBoost or a larger 1.5-litre version available with 148bhp or 180bhp.
Priced from £15,645
Diesel options for the Focus consist of a 2.0-litre TDCi unit that produces either 118bhp or 148bhp, while the Focus ST-Line comes with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox.
Available to order now, the Ford Fiesta ST-Line is priced from £15,645 while the Focus is priced from £20,595 and Ford says that more ST-Line models will follow by the end of the year.
