Further details of new 2019 Skoda Kodiaq vRS

The Kodiaq is the first Skoda SUV to receive the sporty vRS treatment, and will also debut a new vRS logo

ŠKODA has released further details about its upcoming Kodiaq vRS, which is set to make its debut at next month’s Paris Motor Show.

The sporty SUV will feature revised styling details to set it apart from the standard model. Larger 20-inch ‘Xtreme’ alloy wheels will feature (the same as available on the current Octavia vRS), as well as gloss black styling details to the front grille, roof rails and wing mirrors.

Two chrome tailpipes finish off the rear neatly, as well as a full-length reflector – a trademark feature on vRS models.

Housed within the 20-inch alloy wheels are red brake callipers sitting on 17-inch brake discs.

ŠKODA has already confirmed powertrain details of the Kodiaq vRS – a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine producing 237bhp. It’s the same engine available on the range-topping Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line and on the Volkswagen Arteon.

Also debuting on the new model is a new vRS badge, with the ‘v’ finished off in red. This is said to symbolise the sportiness of the vRS family.

Previously ŠKODA has said that the hot Kodiaq will get LED headlights, a digital virtual cockpit as well as a function to make the car louder depending on what driving mode it is in – known as ‘Dynamic Sound Boosting’.

The sporty SUV will make its full debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 4.
