Greener, facelifted Range Rover Evoque revealed

Range Rover has revealed images of its new and improved Evoque crossover SUV, which now comes with a redesigned interior and new engine option.

Details and images have been revealed of the updated Range Rover Evoque, ahead of its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March. Changes to the Evoque include a redesigned exterior and interior, and a new engine which becomes the most efficient in the crossover’s line-up.

The facelift for the updated Evoque includes two new mesh grill desgins, a redesigned front bumper, new all-LED headlamps and three new alloy wheel designs. Changes to the interior, meanwhile, include new seats and door casings and a wider selection of colours and materials for the interior trim. Inside there’s also a new app-friendly infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen. This gadget is standard for the facelifted Evoque .

The new addition to the Evoque’s engine line-up is Jaguar Land Rover’s 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel unit, which’ll replace the car’s 2.2-litre diesel and will also feature on the all-new Jaguar XE saloon. In the Evoque, the new engine can produce 148bhp or 178bhp. With the former output, the new diesel allows the crossover to record an estimated fuel economy of up to 68mpg. It’ll also emit just 109g/km, which is 20g/km less than the greenest engine currently available for the Evoque. In fact, these figures will make the updated Evoque the most efficient car available in the Land Rover model line-up.

Alongside the new diesel the updated Evoque can also be chosen with a 237bhp 2.0-litre Si4 turbocharged petrol engine. All engine options come with fuel-saving stop-start technology as standard and there’s the choice of either a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission.

The facelifted Evoque also has some upgraded safety kit. This includes a lane-keeping assist and a driver fatigue detector.

From launch there will be three trim levels on offer for the facelifted Evoque – SE, HSE Dynamic and Autobiography. Deliveries of the updated Evoque will start this August. Details on pricing could be confirmed when the updated Evoque is presented at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
