Honda teases new Jazz ahead of debut later this month

The new spacious supermini will just be offered with hybrid powertrains

Honda has revealed a teaser image of its new Jazz supermini, which will be unveiled in full at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show later this month.

The Jazz is a model that has always aimed to put space and comfort as its priorities, and Honda says that it will “raise the bar” in these areas with this all-new fourth-generation version of the Jazz.

The teaser gives few clues away – other than showcasing that it will not change dramatically to the existing model. The image shows that the model might have a lower roofline than it does currently, though, along with a more angular front end.

Honda will just offer the new Jazz with a new hybrid powertrain, which will signal the end of the 1.3- and 1.5-litre petrol engines in the current range. The setup is expected to be a ‘self-charging’ hybrid, rather than a plug-in powertrain.

It will be unveiled on October 23 at the Tokyo Motor Show, with Honda also announcing further details of its ‘Electric Vision’ at the same time.

The new Jazz will go on sale next year, which is set to be a big year for Honda as its new ‘e’ electric city car will also start to be delivered.
