Following on from the success of the hatchback version, Hyundai has revealed the Fastback N, which comes with a 272bhp engine.

Hyundai has revealed the latest N performance model in its range – the i30 Fastback N.

After the success of the hatchback version that was released last year, Hyundai has taken the same performance formula and put it in the sleeker Fastback model.

To reflect the dynamic nature of the model, Hyundai has given the Fastback N-specific features, such as the N grille, bumpers with red highlights, black side sills, dual twin-muffler exhausts and an arched spoiler integrated into the boot lid.

For UK customers, the i30 Fastback N will only come with the top-spec Performance engine, which is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 272bhp and 378Nm of torque. This allows the car to get from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph.

Drivers are able to select from five driving modes – Eco, Normal, Sport, N and N Custom – to help suit the mood and situation they’re in.

The cockpit of the Fastback includes sporty touches, such as an exclusive N steering wheel, red contrast stitching and the option to fit black suede and leather upholstery. Models also come with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can run Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air conditioning and parking assists.

The Fastback N also comes with autonomous emergency braking, driver attention alert, lane keeping assist and high beam assist as standard.

Prices and full specifications are yet to be confirmed, but expect it to cost from around £29,000 – slightly more than the i30 N Performance.
