Jaguar F-TYPE gets styling tweaks and improved gadgets for 2017

The Jaguar F-TYPE sports car has been updated for 2017 with some minor design updates, new technology and new specifications.

This updated F-TYPE range will launch during the first quarter of 2017 and it’s the first time the Jaguar has been facelifted since it was first launched. Pricing for the updated F-TYPE range beings at £51,450 for the standard coupe.

The changes to the F-TYPE’s design are subtle, but differences do include tweaked designs for the bumpers and the introduction of full LED headlights.

Tweaks to the interior have also been introduced including new and lighter sports seats. Some new chrome, carbon fibre and aluminium trim finishes have also been made available. For all specifications in the F-TYPE range, the infotainment system has been updated with an eight-inch display and Touch Pro setup that comes with smartphone-esque touchscreen controls.

The updated infotainment device also supports an app called ReRun, which allows users to GoPro video footage with vehicle data included to give users exciting and informative driving footage while in their Jag.

There’s also a new parking assist added to the F-TYPE which utilises sensors to inform the driver when a suitable parking spot is nearby. The car can then be parked automatically at the touch of a button.

 

R-Dynamic and 400 Sport join F-TYPE range

There are two new specifications joining the 2017 F-TYPE range, which are called R-Dynamic and 400 Sport.

The R-Dynamic version replaces the F-TYPE S as the new core model and is available with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive powertrains. Pricing for the F-TYPE R-Dynamic starts from £55,150.

More unique is the new 400 Sport, which will only be on sale through the duration of 2017 and is priced from £70,115. Available with rear- or all-wheel drive, the 400 Sport uses an uprated version of the F-TYPE’s 3.0-litre supercharged V6 which boasts 395bhp. An eight-speed Quickshift automatic gearbox also features.

The 400 Sport also gets upgraded brakes and a Configurable Dynamics System which allows the driver to adjust settings for the steering, throttle, transmission and dampers. The front splitter, rear diffuser and side skirts also have a more distinctive appearance to make this version of the F-TYPE stand out more.
