Jaguar invites potential XE customers to test rival cars

Jaguar has set up a bold one-weekend initiative at their dealerships which will allow those considering its XE saloon to test its rivals from BMW, Audi and Mercedes.

Jaguar dealerships across Britain are inviting potential buyers of the XE saloon to test drive up to three of the car’s rivals under a new initiative. Rivals include the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and the Mercedes C-Class. More than 250 examples of the XE's main rivals have been brought in for the first weekend of September and placed at key Jaguar retailers across Britain.

This will allow potential XE customers at the dealerships to do a group test, directly comparing the compact executive saloon to its main rivals by driving one after the other. However, due to availability issues, not every dealer will have all three rivals available to test and some may only have one rival to drive.

The Jaguar Land Rover UK managing director, Jeremy Hicks, has described the initiative as a “bold move” and one that has “never been done before by a manufacturer in the UK”.

Hicks also said: “Our offer is simple: if you are interested in test driving a Jaguar XE, but are uncertain about how it will compare against its key rivals, then contact your local Jaguar retailer and arrange your own personal group test.”

Those interested in this scheme will only have a short window of opportunity, however, as Jaguar are only running the initiative during the first weekend of this September.
